Plug the OBD2 code reader directly into the port
Turn your vehicle's ignition to the ON position (do not start the engine, or start as instructed by your scanner)
Allow the scanner to connect and communicate with your vehicle's ECU
Select "Read Codes" to view all stored diagnostic trouble codes and identify issues
Resolve the underlying problem causing the fault code (do not clear codes without fixing the issue first)
Return to the main menu and select "Clear Codes"
Confirm the action, and the scanner will immediately erase all fault codes and turn off your check engine light
